We are looking for inspiring and enterprising Course Directors committed to delivering high-quality, junior residential programmes in leading independent schools. Candidates will have high aspirations and the ability to promote and deliver the values and ethos of Discovery Summer to a team of approximately 15-25 staff.

You are responsible for managing and leading the course effectively and for the safety and well-being of all course participants (students, English Student Hosts, staff, Group Leaders, and visitors). You will work closely with Head Office to ensure the student experience is exceptional and the needs of all parties are met and, wherever possible, exceeded.

As the head of the senior management team on the course, a high standard of professionalism and commitment to growth and development is required - many of our Course Directors come back year after year.

• Course Director (Shrewsbury)

You will be responsible for the high-quality and smooth running of a forward thinking, stimulating and varied academic programme. You will be passionate about teaching and learning and committed to working closely with our Academic Manager to ensure classes are engaging and help students develop accuracy, fluency and most importantly, confidence in spoken English.

You will lead and manage a diverse team of teachers, providing professional development opportunities for them and ensuring all academic administration is effectively completed.

You will be a member of the Senior Management Team at the centre - this role requires a high standard of commitment and professionalism.

JOB DESCRIPTION - RESIDENTIAL POSITION

• Director of Studies

We are seeking confident applicants who have worked with children and teenagers previously and have proven administrative, customer care and numerical skills gained from formal employment or voluntary work. The Administrator is a member of the senior management team and works closely alongside them to ensure the smooth running of the course.

There is only one Administrator at each summer centre, so applicants need to be resourceful and ready to find creative solutions to a wide range of situations in a fast-paced environment. This role provides invaluable experience for those who enjoy planning events. We are looking for people who genuinely enjoy working with young people, and are keen to work hard - no two days are the same.

JOB DESCRIPTION - RESIDENTIAL POSITION

• Administrators

The Social Director is responsible for the smooth running and high-quality of the social programme provided for the students.

We are looking for candidates who can lead a fun, safe and varied social programme which includes sports, arts & crafts, evening entertainments and excursions.

You will need previous experience of planning and overseeing activities and motivating children/teens. You will also need to prove that you are positive, energetic, well-organised, efficient and able to meet our high standards.

You will be a member of the Senior Management Team at the centre - this role requires a high standard of commitment and professionalism.
