What To Expect?

  • 20 hours' tuition per week

    20 hours' including English Skills, English Workshops and end-of-week presentation

    Maximum class size: 12 international students**

    ** In exceptional circumstances, in order to place students at their correct level, maximum class size may be exceeded.

  • English Skills

    On arrival, you'll be given a written and oral test and placed into an English Skills class appropriate for your age and level

    Develop core skills as you communicate effectively in spoken and written English. Classes are lively, interactive and fun e.g. Astronaut animals - read about animals who went to space, design a space dog training programme

  • English Workshop

    In these fun, task based sessions, you'll explore new topic areas. Learn through researching, discussing, collaborating and creating

    Workshop topics vary week to week e.g Breakfast TV, British Musicals, Incredible Inventors, Online Game Design, Nature Explorers, Magical Arts, Songwriting, 3D Maps & Models, NASA Space Designers.

  • Trinity Exam

    Graded Exam in Spoken English

    The Trinity Exam is offered on 23 July and 6 August 2026. It is an optional extra and recommended, £130

Activity Programme Details
  • Wide choice of afternoon activities including sports, arts & crafts, drama, nature walks
  • Evening activities include team challenges, quiz nights, mystery shows, talent shows, traditional British games, discos and relaxed nights in houses
  • Special events: Pool parties
  • 2 excursions each week e.g. London, Thorpe Park, Leeds Castle, Canterbury, Rochester Castle
  • Benenden Young Learners and Teens have some joint social activities where brothers/sisters/friends can meet
  • PLUS: Lots of opportunities to practise English with our English Student Hosts.

Accommodation and Supervision
  • Safe campus
  • Traditional boarding houses with bedrooms of 2 - 6 beds, shared bathrooms
  • Very close supervision at all times. Staff/student ratio at least 1:4
  • Resident house parents look after you throughout your stay
  • 3 meals a day and snacks provided. A healthy range of food with all diets catered for including halal
  • Restricted access to mobile phones to encourage students to make new friends and try lots of new activities. WiFi available (at specific times).

Special Sports Options

Tennis: £100/week

  • On site
  • All levels
  • 2 sessions per week, 1 hour per session
  • All the basic skills are coached and practice matches arranged

Horse-riding: £150/week

  • Off site. The riding stables have excellent facilities for indoor/outdoor training and hacking close to Benenden School
  • 2 sessions per week, 45-60 minute lesson + stable management
  • Protective hats and boots are supplied and transportation included

Trampoline: £100/week

  • On site
  • All levels
  • 2 sessions per week, 1 hour per session
  • A great opportunity to boost confidence. This low impact exercise reduces stress, burns calories, develops better balance, co-ordination and motor skills. Give it a try!
