Marymount, London (ages 8-13)
We’re excited to be extending our residential programme at Marymount for 2027. Designed for 8-13 year-olds and ideal for those experiencing their first time away from home – this centre will now be open from Sunday 27 June to Sunday 25 July 2027. This means that students can join us as soon as their summer holidays begin and study for 1 – 3 weeks.
The course includes accommodation at the school, 3 meals a day, 19 hours’ English tuition per week, afternoon activities, a Wednesday afternoon excursion, evening entertainments and finally a Saturday trip to see the London sights, visit Windsor Castle or enjoy the thrills of Chessington World of Adventures.
Would you like our students to show you around this beautiful campus and tell you about a typical day? Watch this video made by our 2026 Marymount students.
At Marymount we also offer a 1-4 week non-residential course from Monday 28 June to Friday 23 July. This programme is designed for 8-13 year-olds who are spending the summer in London with their families.
Our staff meet students at the pickup point near Gloucester Road Underground Station in central London at 08:45 Monday to Friday and they travel by coach to the school – the journey takes just over 30 minutes. In the evening they return at approx. 17:15.
Whilst their parents enjoy time in London, 8-13 year-olds spend the day on this beautiful, green campus in Kingston-upon-Thames. It’s a great opportunity to improve their English and have active, fun-packed days with children from around the world.
The day students enjoy a busy full day programme: 16 hours’ English classes per week, a full cooked lunch, a choice of afternoon activities and an excursion each Wednesday afternoon to e.g. Hampton Court, Kew Gardens, Horniman Museum, and Kensington Palace.
New for 2027 – for both our Marymount day and residential students we’re offering optional extras: Tennis coaching (on-site) and Horse-riding (at the local stables) on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Collingham, London (ages 5-17, 18+)
For families visiting London we continue to offer our summer programme at Collingham in central London for juniors aged 5-17 and adults. The school is located in Kensington just a few minutes’ walk from the coach drop-off/pick-up point for Marymount students which is very convenient for families with children at both centres.
In 2027 the Collingham course will run from Monday to Friday – 28 June to 6 August. Students can study for 1-6 weeks in the mornings 09:00-12:30 or afternoons (subject to demand) from 13:30-17:00.
All 5-17 year-old students have 15 hours’ English tuition each week including project work which culminates in an end-of-week presentation. Whilst younger students aged 5-6 remain on site, the 7-17 year-olds have different study visits each week.
New for 2027 – a trip to the royal residence, Kensington Palace.
Teenagers aged 13-17 have the exciting option of a full day programme including morning English classes and an afternoon programme including at least three Explore London trips per week. This is an excellent opportunity to meet other teenagers from around the world whilst enjoying visits to famous London sights, world-class museums and beautiful parks. Check out the planned afternoon trips here including a visit to the newly opened London Museum.

We also take advantage of Kent’s rich history with trips to Hever Castle, Leeds Castle, Dover Castle and Canterbury – one of England’s most famous medieval cities.
Winchester, Hampshire (ages 13-16, 15-17)
Our summer school – open from Thursday 8 July to Thursday 5 August – in the heart of historic Winchester is ideal for teenage students who want to study in England for 2, 3 or 4 weeks.
We have three courses on offer for international students with different ages, levels and goals. Whilst they are separated during class time they share accommodation, meals, social activities and the two weekly excursions which are all included in the fees.
The Global Young Leaders for 13-16 year-olds is a stimulating programme for international students with Intermediate (B1) level and above who want to boost their English and develop their leadership skills.
For teenage entrepreneurs who are keen to start a business, develop a confident pitch and produce impactful marketing materials this course is ideal.
With a blended programme including English, Business Start-Up, Communication Skills and STEM – this course will develop 21st century life skills through creativity, collaboration, discussion, critical thinking and problem-solving. New for 2027 – Students will use digital tools (e.g. Canva, iMovie) to create impactful visual or audio presentations and advertisements.
For more advanced students we offer the Pre-University programme designed for 15-17 year-old students with a high level of English – upper-intermediate to proficiency B2 – C2 who want to explore new subjects and enhance their skills in preparation for university life.
Students choose a Major and Minor each week with subjects including Artificial Intelligence, Business, Drama, Economics, Engineering, Film & Photography, IELTS Exam Preparation and International Relations.
New for 2027 – We’re offering a Major in Psychology.
In this course students will step inside the science of the human mind, from the inner workings of the brain to the pressures of social media, and uncover what really drives the way we think, feel and behave. They’ll debate the big questions psychologists are still trying to answer, and discover surprising truths about themselves.
At Winchester we also offer an English Plus+ programme for international 13-16 year-olds of elementary to advanced level (A2 – C1) who want to boost their English skills.
Students on all Winchester courses meet and mix with English teenagers – our ‘English Student Hosts’ who are residential and take part in all aspects of the programme.
What do our students say?
Many of our students return year after year – we love to watch them grow and develop as they progress through our range of courses. Here’s one of our favourite quotes from Gemma from Italy who has spent an amazing 5 summers with Discovery Summer:
“I love Discovery Summer because I meet a lot of people that come from all around the world. And I love the classes – specially business class, it is like – so good and just the activities, the people are lovely, the staff members are perfect and you can trust them and they are so nice. I just love it.”
