Founded in 2002
Discovery Summer is an independent, family-owned company. The owners and team have extensive experience in running summer schools. The Head Office team of five, together with external consultants with specialist knowledge in education, dedicate their time throughout the year to developing exciting, innovative and challenging programmes for children, teenagers and families.
British Council
Discovery Summer is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English in the UK.

Nationality Mix
In 2024 we welcomed 48 nationalities - and we also limit the number of each language group. Most students come by recommendation, either from family or friends, or from our network of international representatives. Many students return year after year.
Our Staff
Over 60% of our staff return year after year. This makes for continuity and helps new staff quickly learn 'best practice' methods from their more experienced colleagues. On our residential courses, we offer a very high level of pastoral care with at least one staff member for every four students.
English Student Hosts
Resident English Student Hosts have always been a special feature at Discovery Summer residential centres, making up to 10% of the student population. They live amongst our international students, participate in classes as well as in all other activities on and off campus. They provide countless opportunities for speaking ‘colloquial’ English throughout the day – and for making lasting friendships
